Our Story

For Kim and Jeffrey George, long recognized as a top Houston corporate caterer, the pandemic hit hard. With office meetings and events canceled, Catering by George suddenly faced an empty calendar—a first in 32 years of business. In July 2020, they made the difficult decision to close and let go of their staff, many of whom had been with the company for over 10 years, and some nearly 25.

Owning a building already set up as a commissary kitchen, and armed with decades of catering experience, Kim and Jeffrey saw an opportunity: to share their knowledge with aspiring food entrepreneurs.

CBG Kitchen is more than just a rental space — it’s part of Houston’s culinary history. For over 30 years, this kitchen was home to Catering by George, serving countless events and building a reputation for excellence.

Today, it’s open to food entrepreneurs, caterers, bakers, and small business owners who need a professional, reliable space to grow. As long-time catering professionals ourselves, we understand the challenges you face. That’s why we built CBG Kitchen: to provide a safe, supportive place to grow without the pressure of a full-scale facility.
