Our Story
For Kim and Jeffrey George, long known for being a top Houston corporate caterer, the Pandemic hit hard. With everyone working from home, office meetings and events were canceled. Catering by George, suddenly found themselves with an empty calendar, a first in 32 years of business. In July of 2020, we made the tough decision to close and let all of the staff go. Most of the team had been with us over 10 years and some close to 25 years.
What’s next? We owned the building, it was already set up as a commissary kitchen full of catering equipment and we had decades of experience to share with those just starting out.
A month after closing Catering by George, CBG Kitchen was born and we began offering our commercial kitchen to many of the great food entrepreneurs in Houston since August of 2020.
